If you’re short on time, but want to make a great landscape, this technique is for you. These “layer curve” small landscapes are so fun and easy to make and embellish. Trust me—you can’t make just one!

Supply List:

A word about fabric:
Don’t spend a lot of time looking for those perfect landscape fabrics. Many actual landscape fabrics do not work well because of the scale (usually too large).
Trying to find the perfect fabric can defeat the accidental nature of working with lots of textured strips.

Fabrics:
8 or 10 in total. All fabrics should be 1/8 – 1/4 yd strips (fat quarters will work too).
Sky—Start with a great sky fabric—it sets the tone of your landscape. Think sunrise, sunset, stormy, etc—not just blue sky.
Textures—dots, stripes, mottled, random uneven designs work well
Hand dyed fabrics and batiks work very well

1/2 yd. muslin
Small amount of fusible web for details

Supplies:
Sewing machine in good working order, cleaned and oiled
Rotary cutter, mat, and ruler
Basic sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, etc.)
Fabric scissors
Thread to match or contrast fabrics
For second class you may want embellishments which we will discuss in the first class
